The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are certainly among the most beautiful and iconic peaks not only of all the Dolomites, but also of the entire Alps Their northern face, so vertical and austere, is of unique and incredible beauty. On the other hand, the southern slope, although majestic and imposing, is much less vertical and can be climbed with moderate difficulty. The normal route to Cima Ovest di Lavaredo is a climb of incredible beauty, with an impeccable logic that, by following the weak points of the wall, allows you to slowly gain height between immense rock faces. The difficulties are moderate, on grade III, apart from a few more difficult metres due to a recent small rock fall. The view from the summit is majestic.
Unlike the nearby normal route to the Cima Grande di Lavaredo, this is a less well-known climb, but one that retains the charm and beauty of its big sister. In fact, its loneliness makes it even more fascinating.
The quick approach (about 1 hour from the Auronzo hut) allows you to fully enjoy the climb, in one of the most iconic places in the Dolomites. Good rock and reliable bolts make it perfect for all people who want to try their hand at climbing. To climb it, in fact, all you need is a good ability to climb a difficult via ferrata in the Dolomites. Don’t worry about knots and safety manoeuvres. The Guide will take care of that. All you have to worry about is having fun and enjoying every single moment of the climb!
