The Fanes Gorges and Waterfalls via ferrata is an easy and spectacular route through the gorge carved out by the Fanes stream over thousands of years. Two via ferratas have been created to allow you to cross these gorges in safety: the Giovanni Barbara and the Lucio Dalaiti, which allow you to make a beautiful loop through this deep gorge, where the waters of the Fanes torrent flow turbulently. An easy itinerary, suitable for everyone, which offers unforgettable thrills: the passage behind the waterfall formed by the Fanes stream is simply unique! The lack of particularly difficult sections makes this route suitable for beginners and children: fun guaranteed!
For the more fit, there is also the possibility of a third via ferrata, called Sbarco di Fanes, which is short but very exciting.

Program

Meeting at 9.30am at theDolomiti d’Ampezzo Natural Park info point at Pian de Loa, on the road between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Dobbiaco (SS51).

What you need to know:
  • The minimum age should not be seen as a rigid parameter, but rather as a rough indication that will obviously depend on the technical skills, experience and level of training of the participants. If you feel that you or a member of your group would be able to take part in the excursion if your age were lower, please contact me directly at info@giovanni-orlando.it or call +39 328 83 15 601. In this case it is compulsory to contact the guide before registering for the activity.
  • The maximum number of persons indicated must be intended for a single guide. In the case of larger groups, one or more mountain guides will be used, in accordance with the maximum ratio indicated on the activity sheet. In this case, please send an e-mail to info@giovanni-orlando.it or call +39 328 83 15 601.
  • It is imperative that participants follow the instructions of the mountain guide before and during the activities and respect any changes to the chosen programme in order to ensure their safety.
  • Fees for facilities, transfers and accommodation are subject to change at the discretion of the operator (external to my company) and are not included in the price of the activity unless otherwise stated.
  • The fares shown in the ‘The fare does not include’ section are indicative and may vary.
  • For all itineraries and activities, the guide reserves the right to make changes according to conditions (weather, accessibility, refuges) and the physical condition of the participants.
  • The times indicated for carrying out the activities are subject to variations due to weather conditions and the physical state of the area (snowfall, terrain conditions, etc.) and necessarily depend on the opening and closing dates of the ski lifts, which are set seasonally/annually by the ski lift operators and are therefore in no way attributable to the mountain guide.
  • Minors under the age of 18, if unaccompanied, require a parental or guardian waiver to be given to the guide prior to the excursion.
