The Tridentina via ferrata at Pisciadù is certainly the most famous via ferrata in the Dolomites. And how could it be otherwise? Given the beauty and majesty of the environment in which it grows!
The short approach, the beauty of the surrounding mountains, and the presence of a spectacular suspension bridge at the end of the ferrata certainly place it on the list of Dolomite via ferratas that must be climbed.
The starting point is on the road connecting Alta Badia with the Gardena Pass. After a short approach, the Tridentina ferrata climbs up the imposing wall of the Exner Tower until it reaches the summit. The icing on the cake of the fantastic Tridentina via ferrata is the suspension bridge to the Cavazza refuge at Pisciadù. A stop here is a must, perhaps to refresh yourself with a steaming plate of pasta or a generous slice of strudel.
The ferrata is easy in the first part, with increasing difficulty as you ascend. At the top of the ferrata, there is a possible escape route, which makes it possible to quickly reach the Pisciadù refuge. In this case, the major difficulties (also due to fatigue) and the suspension bridge will be avoided. The descent is along a path that is steep at first, facilitated by the presence of several wire ropes. Finally, it follows a long gravel path that leads directly to the car.
The presence of the Alpine Guide will allow you to experience this fantastic day to the fullest! In short, there are all the ingredients for a magnificent experience on the Tridentina ferrata!
